FPS MOBILE CLINIC

Serving Lorain County

At Family Planning Services of Lorain County, we’re building our Mobile Clinic — a fully equipped medical van designed to bring reproductive and sexual health care directly into the community.

Instead of patients having to come to us —

this will allow us to bring care closer to home.

TAKE A LOOK INSIDE

For many people, getting care isn't simple - and often, it's out of reach.

when care is out of reach

Preventive care only works when people can actually access it.

In Lorain County, many people go without care — not because they don’t want it, but because getting to an appointment means figuring out transportation, work schedules, childcare, and everything else life throws at you.

When care is delayed or out of reach, things that are preventable or treatable can go undetected — like cervical cancer, STIs, or other health concerns that rely on early screening.

Services like Pap tests, STI testing, and breast health screenings are designed to catch issues early — but only if people can access them.

Even more immediate concerns — like symptoms of a UTI or other infections — can go untreated when getting to care isn’t easy, turning something simple into something more serious.

When you’re balancing everything else in life, making it to a doctor’s appointment doesn’t always come first — even when it matters.

Access to care isn’t just about convenience.

It’s about whether people are able to

take care of their health at all.

The mobile clinic is designed to change that.

a different way to deliver care

The mobile clinic changes how care can be delivered.

Instead of asking people to overcome multiple obstacles to get care, services can be brought directly into the community — in places that are familiar, accessible, and easier to reach.

This creates more opportunities for people to access preventive care, like Pap tests, STI and HIV testing, and breast health screenings — helping catch concerns early, when they’re most treatable.

It also makes it easier to respond to everyday health needs, like symptoms of a UTI or other infections, without delays that can make things more complicated.

Together, this creates a more flexible, responsive way to connect people with care — one that fits into real life, instead of requiring people to work around it.

This is what expanding access can look like.
