Do we offer abortion services?
While Family Planning Services of Lorain County does not offer abortion services, we respect an individual’s right to their own healthcare. We provide external resources for all pregnancy options, including prenatal care, adoption services, and abortion.

We serve everyone of reproductive age regardless of their ability to pay.

We provide healthcare including pap smears, pregnancy testing, pelvic and breast exams, testicular exams, HIV testing, STI testing, HPV vaccine, emergency contraception and birth control at low-cost or no cost. We also assist HIV+ individuals obtain needed community services.

Our educators provide services both in and out of the health center. In the health center, educators provide patient education and orientation. Outside our offices, we can provide presentations on a range of reproductive health topics. We can provide programming in schools, community centers, social service agencies, and correctional facilities.

Family Planning Services of Lorain County (FPS) is a nonprofit reproductive and sexual health care provider located in Elyria, Ohio. Since 1969, we have been caring for our community with confidential, high-quality, and affordable services.​
We believe everyone deserves access to accurate information and compassionate care — regardless of age, income, gender identity, sexual orientation, or insurance status. Each year, we serve thousands of individuals and families across Lorain County with services that support their health, autonomy, and well-being.​
Our care is affordable and accessible. We accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid and many private plans. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, we offer a sliding fee scale based on income. We also have an on-site insurance enroller who can help you explore coverage options. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.​
