Emergency Contraception
We have switched to a differnt form of Emergency Contraceptive Pills called Plan B. Plan BŪ prevents pregnancy in the same way birth control pills prevent pregnancy because Plan BŪ is a special dose of birth control pills. To learn more about Plan B, visit Plan B's Web Site. For more general information about Emergency Contraception, visit The Emergency Contraception Web Site. Emergency Contraception is available to women who have had unprotected sex in the last 72 hours. It is about 75 to 90% effective in preventing pregnancy. Emergency contraception will not terminate or harm an existing pregnancy. Pregnancy terminations are not available in Lorain County. However, we are able to provide education and a resource list on this topic upon request.
