Family Planning Services offers the following services:

• Free Walk-In Pregnancy Testing
• Birth control methods and supplies
• Emergency contraception
• Pelvic exams and Pap tests
• Breast exams
• Sexually Transmitted Disease screening and treatment
• HIV testing and counseling
• Colposcopy and cryotherapy
• Educational resources

You will need to make an appointment for exams and consultations with the clinician. Please try to call 2 weeks in advance to schedule your appointment so that we may better accommodate your schedule. When scheduling an appointment please specify which clinic you would like to go to - Elyria, Lorain, Oberlin, or North Ridgeville.

We Are Confidential

All your visits to Family Planning Services are strictly confidential. No one need ever know that you have visited us. If this is a concern for you, please let us know.

We are proud of the services that we provide to the women of Lorain County. For many of our clients, family planning is their first and only health care resource. Our staff includes a Board Certified OB/GYN (obstetrician/gynecologist), a skilled nursing staff, medical assistants, a health educator and a knowledgeable and understanding clerical staff. We also have a Spanish-speaking nurse on staff who can assist our Spanish-speaking clients. All of our patient forms and fact sheets are also available in Spanish.

We Are Affordable

Our fees are based on a sliding scale. The amount you pay is based on your income and the number of people who depend on you for support. If you have little or no income, for example if you are a student, you may be able to receive free services through our Title X federal grant. Please ask us about our fees and payment arrangements.

Generally, our services cost less than a visit to a private physician's office. We also provide supplies at a fraction of the cost charged by pharmacies and drug stores.

We do ask you to pay for services at the time of your visit. However, we are happy to bill you for the balance should you be unable to pay in full at that time. We also accept Medicaid and Medicaid HMO insurance.
